maintenanceandreplacementofparts.
bMakesurethatthecabinetdoorcanbefullyopenedforunrestrictedaccess.
cMakesurethatthebolts,screwsorstudsthathavebeenusedareallofthe
correctsize.
dMakesurethatthecorrectatandshake-proofwashershavebeenused.
eMakesurethatallthenutshavebeentightenedproperly.
fMakesurethatallweldsandbracketshavebeenpaintedwiththecorrect
preservationmediumtopreventcorrosion.
3Makesurethattheunitisnotphysicallydamaged,andthatthesurfacesand
paint-workarecleanwithoutdentsorscratches.
Thephysicalhandlingduringtheinstallationmayhavecausedsomeminor
scratchestothesurfacesorpaint-work.Thiscanbeaccepted.However,ifrough
handlinghascausedseriousdamage,thismustberecordedwithawrittenstatement
andnecessaryphotos,sothatcorrectiveactionscanbemade.
4Makesurethattheunithasbeenidentiedwiththerelevantproductlabel(s),and
thatonelabelincludesthepartandserialnumbers.
5Makesurethattheunitisrmlyconnectedtoship'sground.
aMakesurethattheunitissecurelyconnectedtotheship'sgroundwithan
earthingstrap.Thestrapmustbeinadditiontoanyincidentalelectricalcontact
madebythemountinglugsontheunit.
bUseastandardmultimetertocheckthattheresistancebetweentheunitandthe
ship'sgroundisapproximately0(zero)Ω.
6Makesurethatcableinstallationhasbeencompleted.
aMakesurethatallcablesleadingtoandfromtheunithavebeenproperly
mountedandsecured.
bMakesurethatenoughslackhasbeenprovidedoneachcabletoallowfor
maintenanceandreplacement.
7Makesurethattheunit’sserialnumberhasbeenrecordedinthelistofhardware
items.
