NTP(NetworkTimeProtocol)isanetworkprotocolthatenablesyoutosynchronizethe
clocksondevicesoveranetwork.ItusesoneormoreNTPserverstomaintainahighly
accuratetime,andallowsclientstoqueryforthistime.Whenclientsquerytheserver
theyautomaticallyadjusttheirowninternalclockstomirrortheNTPserver.These
tasksareonlyapplicableforaEK80systemttedwithrelevanthardwareforacoustic
Dopplercurrentproler(ADCP)functionality.

ensuresthattheEK80andtheADCPhardwarearesynchronizedtothevessel’smaster
clock.
