AvisualinspectionoftheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)isrequiredtoverifythatthe
unithasnotbeenphysicallydamagedduringtheinstallation.IfmorethanoneWide
BandTransceiver(WBT)isused,eachmustbeinspectedseparately.
Prerequisites
TheEK80isinstalledasspeciedintheEK80Installationmanual.TheEK80isturned
off.Youneedthefollowingequipment:
•Multimeter
Context
ThestepsinthisproceduremustberepeatedforeachWideBandTransceiver(WBT)
thatisinstalled.
Procedure
1Makesurethattheunit’sserialnumberhasbeenrecordedinthelistofhardware
items.
2MakesurethattheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)isinstalledinthecorrectlocation,
andthatitissuitablyorientedforeasymaintenanceandreplacementofparts.
3Makesurethatthephysicalinstallationoftheunithasbeencompleted.
aMakesurethatthecompartment("sonarroom")isprovidedwithample
ventilationtopreventsystemunitsfromoverheating.
bMakesurethatthecompartment("sonarroom")iscleananddry.
cMakesurethatthebulkheadstructuretowhichtheWideBandTransceiver
(WBT)isfastenedissubstantialenoughtoholdtheunitsecurelyunderall
operatingconditions.
dMakesurethatampleventilationisprovidedtoavoidoverheating.
eMakesurethatyouhavefreeaccesstoalltheconnectorsontheWideBand
Transceiver(WBT)formaintenancepurposes.
fMakesurethatthebolts,screwsorstudsthathavebeenusedareallofthe
correctsize.
gMakesurethatthecorrectatandshake-proofwashershavebeenused.
hMakesurethatallthenutshavebeentightenedproperly.
