AvisualinspectionoftheWBTCabinetisrequiredtoverifythatithasnotbeen
physicallydamagedduringtheinstallation.
Prerequisites
TheEK80isinstalledasspeciedintheEK80Installationmanual.TheEK80isturned
off.Youneedthefollowingequipment:
•Multimeter
Procedure
1MakesurethattheWBTCabinetisinstalledinthecorrectlocation,andthatitis
suitablyorientedforeasymaintenanceandreplacementofparts.
2Makesurethatthephysicalinstallationofthecabinethasbeencompleted.
aMakesurethatthecompartment("sonarroom")isprovidedwithample
ventilationtopreventsystemunitsfromoverheating.
bMakesurethatthecompartment("sonarroom")iscleananddry.
cIfapplicable:Makesurethatthebulkheadstructuretowhichthecabinetis
fastenedissubstantialenoughtoholditsecurelyinplaceunderalloperating
conditions.
dIfapplicable:Makesurethatallweldsandbracketshavebeenpaintedwiththe
correctpreservationmediumtopreventcorrosion.
eMakesurethatthebolts,screwsorstudsthathavebeenusedareallofthe
correctsize.
fMakesurethatthecorrectatandshake-proofwashershavebeenused.
gMakesurethatallthenutshavebeentightenedproperly.
3IftheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)unitshavebeeninstalledduringtheEK80
systeminstallation:
aMakesurethateachdrawerlabelhasbeenpositionedcorrectlyandreects
therelevanttransceiver.
bMakesurethatallthepowersupplieshavebeeninstalledonthededicated
bottomdrawer(s).
cMakesurethatallthepowercablesarefastenedtothefrontverticalrailon
theleftside.
dMakessurethatallthetransducercablesareinstalledonthesamesideofthe
WBTCabinet,andtheoppositesideofthepowercables.
eMakessurethattheentireinstallationallowsformaintenanceandreplacements.
