2.4 TOWING, HAULING AND LIFT-
ING SAFETY
• Except in case of emergency sit-
uations, machine malfunction,
power loss or loading/unloading,
it is strictly prohibited to tow or
drag the machine.
• When towing or dragging the ma-
chine, comply with local policies
and road traffic regulations.
• Before towing, hauling or lifting
the machine, make sure that the
boom is stowed, that the turntable
is locked (or if equipped with turn-
table slewing pin, that the turnta-
ble slewing pin is locked), that
there are no loose or unsecured
parts on the machine, and that
there are no tools left on the
platform.
• Only the lifting points/rigging
lashing points on the chassis may
be used to tow, haul or lift the ma-
chine. Ensure that the machine
lifting points/rope lashing points
and their attached structures are
intact and that the belt or rope to
be used has sufficient load
strength.
• When towing, hauling or lifting
the machine, no persons are al-
lowed on the platform.
• Before loading/unloading the ma-
chine, ensure that the transport
vehicle is parked on level ground,
that the loading surface of the
transport vehicle has sufficient
capacity/strength to support the
machine, and that the slope of the
ramp used for driving the machine
onto the vehicle does not exceed
the maximum gradeability of the
machine.
• When loading/unloading the ma-
chine, the transport vehicle must
be secured to prevent it from
moving.
• The wheels should be locked
after the machine is loaded to pre-
vent it from moving.
• The machine may only be lifted
from a specific position with a
forklift or crane with sufficient lift-
ing capacity. Care should be taken
to prevent the machine from col-
liding with surrounding objects.
For towing and dragging procedures, refer to the Emer-
gency Towing section of this manual. For transport and
lifting procedures, please refer to the Transport and
Lifting section of this manual.
