10 MAINTENANCE
This chapter provides the operator with additional infor-
mation needed to properly operate and maintain the ma-
chine, and is only intended to assist the operator in
performing routine maintenance tasks. For more com-
prehensive maintenance instructions, please refer to the
Inspection and Preventive Maintenance Schedule
and the Maintenance Manual.
10.1 LUBRICATION
In order to ensure the performance and service life of
the machine and its components, moving parts must be
regularly inspected and lubricated.
NOTICE
• Mixing lubricating oil of different grades will alter
its properties and cause damage to the machine.
When refilling lubricant, the oil being added must
be of the same grade as the oil currently in use in
the machine.
• Any contamination (dust) of the lubricating oil can
lead to premature wear of the sliding surfaces and
shorten the service life of the machine. Before
adding lubricating oil the container used for filling
and other surfaces must be cleaned.
• Failing to adhere to lubrication cycles or lack of lu-
brication can cause equipment damage, and in-
crease repair costs and downtime.
• During the lubrication procedure, non-related
personnel are prohibited from operating the
equipment. Unexpected equipment move-
ments could pose serious risks to the
operator.
• If lubricating oil gets into the eyes, rinse the
eyes immediately with clean water and seek
medical attention promptly. If the skin comes
into contact with lubricating oil, make sure to
thoroughly wash the skin with water.
