OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Note: The travel speed is in direct proportion to the trav-
el distance of the handle. The shorter the travel dis-
tance, the slower the speed.
Driving Forward and Reverse
1. Driving forward: Depress the foot switch and push
the travel/steer control handle forward, the machine
will travel forward.
2. Driving backward: Depress the foot switch and push
the travel/steer control handle backward, the ma-
chine will travel backward.
3. When the boom is above the rear-wheel drive axle,
the control direction of traveling and steering of the
platform controller will be indicated by the red and
yellow directional arrows on the chassis.
4. When the boom moves beyond the rear wheel, the
reverse position indicator will flash, and the travel
function will be turned off. To restore the travel func-
tion: Press the reverse position travel switch, the
rear position indicator will illuminate, and the travel
function will resume. (At this time, the control direc-
tion of traveling and steering of the machine will be
opposite to the red and yellow directional arrows on
the chassis)
Steering While Traveling
1. Steer left: Depress the foot switch, push the travel/
steer control handle forward and press the left but-
ton on top of the handle, the machine will steer left.
2. Steer right: Depress the foot switch, push the travel/
steer control handle forward and press the right but-
ton on top of the handle, the machine will steer right.
Traveling on Slopes
The machine must not be driven on slopes, steps
or arched surfaces that exceed the maximum
gradeability of the machine.
Before traveling on a slope, please determine:
1. the machine’s maximum gradeability.
2. The slope grade. To determine the slope grade:
• Use a suitable carpenter’s ruler, a straight piece
of wood and a tape measure.
• Measure the height (H) and length (L) of the
slope.
Fig 4
• Slope grade= H/L x 100%.
Do not drive the machine on the maximum
permissible slope for more than 2 minutes to
avoid overheating the drive motor.
High/Low Travel Speed Switching
• In a tilted condition the machine must be driv-
en at low speed.
• Before traveling at high speeds, make sure to
first observe whether the surrounding environ-
ment is safe. Otherwise, it is possible to collide
with obstacles or other persons, and other
dangers may occur.
NOTICE
Before switching to high travel speed mode, make
sure the engine (if equipped) is running at high speed.
1. With the machine traveling in non-operating posi-
tion, push upward the high/low drive speed selector
switch, the travel speed will be switched to high
speed and the high drive speed indicator light will
be on; push the travel control handle to full drive po-
sition, the machine will travel at the maximum travel
speed.
NOTICE
• Before traveling in a non-operating position, if
the 'travel high/low speed switch' remains in
the high-speed position after the drive function
is activated, the machine will start to run at
high speed immediately.
• With the machine traveling in non-operating
position, push upward the high/low drive
speed selector switch, the machine will start to
run at high speed.
