N Fit the snap ring (18) in the installing tool 5910 890
2213 (Figs. 1 - 3).
N Position the installing tool 5910 890 2213 so that it is
on the axis of the piston pin (17) and the mark (arrow)
faces up (Fig. 4).
N Hold the piston (13) steady and install the snap ring
(18) in the piston (13) with installing
tool 5910 890 2213.
N Make sure the gap (arrow) in the snap ring (18) is
facing either up or down.
N Install crankshaft (11) with piston (13), @ 20.5.
N Remove engine pan (8) and oil seals (10 and 12), @
20.4.
20.8 Installing Crankshaft with Piston
N If the piston (13) has been removed: Install the piston
(13), @ 20.7.
N Coat piston (13) and piston rings (15 and 16) with
two-stroke engine oil.
N Check that gaps of piston rings (15 and 16) are offset
180°.
N Push the piston (13) with crankshaft (11) into the
cylinder (5).
N Install engine pan (8) and oil seals (10 and 12), @
20.11.
20.9 Removing Valves and Valve Springs
N Remove engine pan (8) and oil seals (10 and 12), @
20.4.
N Remove crankshaft (11) with piston (13), @ 20.5.
N Remove rocker arms, @ 18.2.
N Press the valve spring retainer (3) down and move it
sideways until the intake valve stem is in the large
hole.
N Remove the valve spring retainer (3).
N Remove the valve spring (4).
N Pull the intake valve (7) out of the cylinder (5).
N Remove valve spring retainer (3) and valve spring (4)
of exhaust valve (6).
N Pull the exhaust valve (6) out of the cylinder (5).
N If head of ether intake valve (7) or exhaust valve is
damaged: Replace intake valve (7) and exhaust valve
(6).
N If the valve springs (4) are damaged: Replace the
valve springs (4).
N If valve seats in cylinder (5) are damaged: Replace
the cylinder (5).
20.10 Installing Valves and Valve Springs
NOTICE
The diameter of the intake valve (7) is larger than that of
the exhaust valve (6).
N Fit intake valve (7) in intake side of cylinder (5).
N Fit exhaust valve (6) in exhaust side of cylinder (5).
