– The operator platform should not lower due
to the loaded lower cut-off (1). If the lower
cut-off is defective, decomission the truck
and inform the supervisor immediately.
Decommissioning the truck
If the truck is to be decommissioned for a long
period, it must be parked in a frost-free and
dry location.
On decommissioning the truck must be jacked
up so that all the wheels are clear of the
ground. This is the only way of ensuring that
the wheels and wheel bearings are not dam-
aged.
If the truck is to be out of service for more than
6 months, further measures must be taken in
consultation with the manufacturer’s service
department.
Prior to decommissioning
– Clean the multi function vehicle thoroughly.
– Check the brakes.
– Check the hydraulic oil level and top up if
required.
– Apply a thin layer of lubricating oil or grease
to all non-painted mechanical components.
– Lubricate the multi function vehicle in ac-
cordance with the lubrication schedule.
– Remove the battery and recharge it at least
once per month.
– Clean the battery and apply specialised
grease to the terminals.
– Spay all exposed electrical contacts with a
suitable contact spray.
WARNING
Charge the battery every months to avoid depletion
of the battery through self-discharger.
Restoring the truck to operation after decommissioning
– Thoroughly clean the truck.
– Clean the battery. Grease the pole screws
using pole grease and reconnect the bat-
tery.
– Recharge the battery.
– Check if the hydraulic oil contains con-
densed water and change if required.
