Using the truck
Commissioning
Commissioning is the initial intended use of
the truck.
The necessary steps for the commissioning
vary depending on the model and equipment
of the truck. These steps require preparatory
work and adjustment work that cannot be per-
formed by the operating company. See also
the chapter entitled "Definition of responsible
persons".

thorised service centre.
Intended use
The following operations are in accordance
with regulations and are permitted:

Order picking of goods.
●
Taking goods up or down from areas not
comfortably reached without a ladder.
●
Lifting and lowering by the operator on the
operating platform.
●
Transporting small items on the storage ta-
ble without a pallet. The maximum load is
indicated on the nameplate label and must
not be exceeded.
●
Travel and lift/lower simultaneously.
●
Lift in indoor areas only without wind forces.
●
Travel on clean, dry and even prepared
(concrete, asphalt) ground (Travel on nego-
tiating inclines up to 5% gradient is only
allowed if the platform is fully lowered.)
●
Light maintenance work like changing
lights, hanging up banners, doing inspec-
tions and small repairs. All tools and materi-
als must be kept on the load tray.
●
Horizontal forces applied to the platform
may not exceed 200 N in any direction. The
center of gravity of operator and load must
be inside the confines of the vehicle.
●
Operation in areas open to the public like
in a store, if the following regulations are
observed.
●
Operator must be trained.
●
The truck must have a safety switch to
make sure nobody is in the area between
the drive unit and the platform when driving
or lowering. Optionally, the warning signal
can be activated by a button.
●
The truck may only be used if all safety
functions are working, otherwise the truck
must be taken out of service.
●
If the area is too crowded, the owner must
instruct the public to give space or the oper-
ator must work together with a marshal to
keep people away and warn the operator if
there are still people in the hazardous area.
Impermissible use
The truck may not be used for.
●
Pushing or pulling of loads.
●
Travel on uneven ground with the platform
lifted.
●
Lifting outside or when wind forces are
present in indoor areas.
●
With more people than the operator on the
platform.
●
Handling of oversized loads or unevenly
distributed loads.
