When the user sets an alarm, a message is displayed on the console. For example,
when the critical alarm is set, the following message is displayed on the console:
In certain instances when the critical alarm is set, the associated alarm indicator is
not lit. This implementation is subject to change in future releases.
Selecting a Boot Device
The boot device is specified by the OpenBoot configuration variable boot-device.
The default setting of this variable is disk net. With this setting, the firmware first
attempts to boot from the system hard drive, and if that fails, from the on-board
NET0 Gigabit Ethernet interface.
This procedure assumes that you are familiar with the OpenBoot firmware and that
you know how to enter the OpenBoot environment. For more information, see
“OpenBoot PROM” on page 27.
