Air shut o rooms
Why shut o the air ow?
In properties housing several dierent businesses that utilise
their premises at dierent times for example, it may be prefer-
able to be able to shut o parts of the system at certain times,
when the premises are not being used.
How does room shut o work?
The air ow to and from a room can be shut o with a mode
called Air o for a desired time via SuperWISE, Modbus or
BACnet. It’s also possible to activate or deactivate closure via
a push button of a locking type connected to WISE IRE. The
position of the damper on all products belonging to the room is
then set to 0%. When Air o is enabled for the room, the room
temperature is then controlled according to No occupancy
mode. All comfort alarms are blocked when air shut o in the
room is enabled. Rooms can also be set to Air o via Schedule.
However, a scheduled shut o can be overridden by switches,
occupancy and for Emergency mode depending on how these
are congured. For Air shut o, rooms come in balance by shut-
ting o both supply and extract air.
Is it also possible to choose to override shut o on a room level in
two dierent ways:
- Shut o can be overridden with a switch. This can be of
the type momentary or non-momentary. If a non-momen-
tary switch is used, Air shut o will be overridden until the
switch is set in its normal position again. If a momentary
switch is used, overriding will be active until the set time
has elapsed. This applies irrespective of whether the room
was shut o or will be shut o from elsewhere. The time
applies from the last time the switch was actuated. Note
that overriding via a switch has a higher priority than
e.g. a schedule, which means the schedule function only
becomes active once the time for overriding via switch has
elapsed. However, the Emergency mode function always
has highest priority.
- The shut o can be overridden by occupancy or using a
switch.
In the event of Emergency mode, the dampers in the room will
act according to the conguration set for Emergency mode. As
Emergency mode has a higher priority than Air shut o, in some
instances depending on the Emergency mode conguration, this
may mean that the Air shut o function is overridden by the
Emergency mode function.
A room damper cannot be shut o separately, but is shut o
through Air o for the room or the zone damper. A damper in a
shut o room will not be included in the calculation of pressure
optimisation and/or damper optimisation. When the damper is
shut-o the air ow value will be invalid and not shown.
When shutting o a large number of rooms, the easiest way to
perform this is in Quick settings.
Note, in order for automatic functions in the event of a shut
o to work, it is important that the installation is congured
correctly and thus describes the structure set for the air ow
in the format Air handling unit-Zone damper-Room-Room
damper.
Shutting o the air handling unit
When a connected GOLD air handling unit is shut o, WISE will
automatically detect this and prevent alarms from being set in
the room. The damper will be set in ‘default mode’ to facilitate
the restart of the air handling unit. If the air handling unit is of
the type General AHU, the Modbus parameter for ‘AHU Running’
should be used to obtain equivalent functionality.
