Upload a license file
The first time you log on to a DSM, the dashboard displays License file not found, and all you will see are the
Dashboard and System tabs. You need to click System and select License, then Upload the license file. After
uploading your license file, all the other tabs for which you have a license are visible.
1. Log on to your initial DSM as a DSM administrator of type System or All.
2. Get a license file from Vormetric Customer Support.
3. Select System > License in the menu bar. The License window opens.
4. Click Upload License File. The Upload License File window opens.
5. In the License File box, enter the full path of the license file or click Browse to locate and select the license file.
6. Click Ok.
Menu items available to you per your license will now be visible.
Upload a license file

To upload a license:
1. Click System
2. Select License
3. Click Upload the license file.
After uploading your license file, all the other functions for which you have a license will be visible.
Add more CLI administrators (optional)
1. Navigate to the users commands menu, type:
user
2. For each administrator you want to add, type:
add <administrator name>
3. When prompted, enter a password. The password criteria are:
n
Does not have repeating characters
n
Uses at least 1 upper- and 1 lower-case character
n
Uses at least 1 special character
4. Return to the main menu, type:
up
Full Disk Encryption
As of v6.0.2, the DSM root file system is automatically encrypted for enhanced security. This feature is only available
on: a fresh installation of the DSM v6.0.2 software on the V6x00 appliances and a fresh DSM v6.0.2 build on a virtual
appliance. See "Full Disk Encryption" on page40 for details and procedures for this feature.
This feature also requires use of the IPMI, see "Configuring IPMI" on page60 for details and procedures for this
feature.
