Maintenance
Inspecting the Hoses
Ev er y 200 hours , examine eac h hose in the spra y
system for crac ks , leaks or other damag e . At the
same time , inspect the connections and fittings for
similar damag e . R e place any hoses and fittings if
damag ed.
Pump Maintenance
Inspecting the Pump
Ev er y 400 hours and/or yearly , ha v e an A uthorized
T oro Ser vice Distributor c hec k follo wing inter nal
pump components for damag e:
• Pump diaphragm
• Pressure dampener bladder
• Pump c hec k v alv es assemblies
R e place any components if necessar y .
Changing the Pump Drive Gearbox
Fluid
Chang e the pump dri v e g earbo x ev er y 400 hours .
1. P osition the spra yer on a lev el surface , set the
parking brak e , stop the pump , stop the engine ,
and remo v e the ignition k ey .
2. Place a pan under the drain plug on the pump
dri v e g ear bo x ( Figure 71 ).

2. Fill tube
3. R emo v e the fill plug and drain plug ( Figure 71 ),
allo wing the oil to drain into the pan.
4. Install and tighten the drain plug when the
fluid stops draining .
5. Add appro ximately 1 quar t (1 L) of Mobil SHC
634 Synthetic Lubricant to the fill tube .
Important: Use onl y Mobil SHC 634
Synthetic Lubricant or equi v alent synthetic
fluid in the gear bo x. Non-synthetic oils
may br eak do wn causing dama ge to the
pump gearbo x.
6. Install the fill plug .
Adjusting the Boom
Actuator
Inspect the actuator h y draulic oil for air bubbles
ev er y 400 hours .
1. P osition the spra yer on a lev el surface , lo w er
the booms into the spra y position.
2. Set the parking brak e , stop the pump , stop the
engine , and remo v e the ignition k ey
3. Attempt to lift the boom b y applying a
moderate amount of pressure (just enough
to lift the boom man ually) while obser ving
