4. Install the left and right deck belt guards.
5. Install the oor pan assembly to the machine.
6. Connect the battery by installing the positive cable rst, then the negative
cable to the battery .
Deck Replacement
Deck Removal
1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PT O. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key . Engage the
parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative cable rst, then the positive
cable from the battery .
3. Remove the deck belt. Refer to Deck Belt Removal ( page 5– 7 ) .
4. Set the height-of-cut of the deck to transport height.
5. Placing blocks under the deck for support, remove the height-of-cut pin to
allow the deck to rest on the blocks. Lower the deck onto the supporting
blocks.
6. Using a 9/16 inch wrench, slowly loosen and remove the (3/8 inch) lift assist
spring shoulder bolt.

7. Using a 9/16 inch socket, remove the 2 (3/8 inch) nuts and carriage bolts
securing the deck strut to the frame.
