To adju st the st eering wheel positi on,
push down the lock release lever. Then
til t t he steer ing w heel t o t he desi red
angle, push or pull i t to the desir ed
steerin g column l ength and ret urn the
lever to its ori ginal positi on.
CAUTION
D Do not adjust the steeri ng wheel
while the vehicle is moving. Doing
so may cause the dr iver to mishan-
dle the vehi cle and an accident may
occur resul ting i n death or serious
injuries.
D After adjusting the steering wheel,
try m oving it up and down or f or-
ward and r earward to make sure i t
is locked in position.
Adjust the mi rror so t hat you can j ust
see the side of your vehicle in the mir-
ror.
When you push the rear wi ndow defogger
swit ch, the heater panels in the out side
rear v iew mirr ors wil l quic kly cl ear the
mirror surf ace. ( See “ Rear window and
outsi de rear view mirror defogger s” on
page 194 i n Section 1−5.)
On some models, the outside rear vi ew
mirr ors have been c oated to produce a
“rai n cl earing” effect . Thi s c oating causes
the raindr ops to s pread, cl earing the driv-
er ’s rear view when i t rains. ( See “ Rain
clear ing mi rror s” on page 493 in Sect ion
5.)
CAUTION
