Keep the plat e in a safe place such as
your wallet, not in the vehicle.

repair er, or anot her duly qual ifi ed and
equipped pr ofess ional, us ing the key num-
ber.
We recommend wr iting down the k ey num-
ber and stori ng it in a s afe place.
The engine immobilizer system is a
theft preventi on system using an elec-
tronic code.
Vehicles wi thout smart entry and st art
system—The tr ansponder chi p in the
key has an el ectroni c code and tr ans-
mits the code to the vehicle. Only when
theelectroniccodeinthechipcorre-
sponds to the register ID code for the
vehicle, the engine immobilizer system
will be cancel ed and t he engine wil l
start .
Vehicles with smar t ent ry and start sys-
tem—When you enter the vehicle carr y-
ing an el ectroni c key and pr ess t he
“ENGINE START STOP” switch, the
electr onic code in the key is automati-
cally checked t o determ ine whether i t
corresponds to t he r egistered I D code
for the vehicle. If the ID code is veri-
fied, you can start the engine.
Never leave the keys insi de the vehicle
when you l eave the vehicle.
