KEYS AND DOORS
Your vehicle is supplied with two kinds
of keys.
1. Mas ter k eys (blac k)— These k eys work
in every l ock. Your authoriz ed Toy ota
dealer or repair er, or anot her duly qual-
ified and equipped profess ional, will
need one of them to make a new key
with a built−in transponder c hip.
2. Sub key (gray )—This key wil l not work
in the glove box.
A transponder chip for engine immobiliz er
system has been plac ed in t he head of
the m aster and sub k eys. Thes e chips ar e
needed t o enable the system to function
corr ectl y, so be c areful not to los e these
keys . If you make y our own dupli cate k ey,
you will not be able to cancel the system
or star t the engine.
To prot ect items loc ked in t he gl ove box
when using valet park ing, leave the sub
key wit h the attendant.
Since the s ide door s c an be loc ked wi th-
out a key, y ou s hould al ways car ry a
spare key in c ase you ac cident ally lock
your key s insi de the vehicl e.
When bri nging a w ireles s remote c ontrol
key onto an aircraft, make sure you do
not press any but tons on the wireles s re-
mote contr ol key while ins ide the airc raft
cabin. If you are carrying a wireless re-
mote c ontrol key in your bag etc, ensure
that the buttons are not lik ely to be
press ed acc idental ly. Pres sing a but ton
may cause the wireless remote control
key t o emit r adio waves that c ould inter-
fere with the operat ion of the aircr aft.
