Before repl acing the headli ght bul bs,
parking light bulbs and f ront turn sig-
nal li ght bul bs, remove the engine
compartment cover. ( See “—Removing
the engine compartment cover” on page
503 in Section 7−1.)
The following illustrations show how to
gain ac cess to the bul bs. When r eplaci ng
a bulb, mak e sure t he engine s witc h (ve-
hicl es without smart entry and s tart s ys-
tem) or the “ ENGINE START STOP”
swit ch (vehi cles wit h s mart entry and s tart
system) and light switch are off. Use
bulbs wi th the watt age r atings given in t he
table.
The s ide turn signal li ghts, s top/tai l li ghts
and high mount ed st oplight consis t of a
number of LEDs. If any of t he LEDs burn
out, tak e your vehic le to any authoriz ed
Toyota deal er or repai rer, or anot her duly
qualifi ed and equipped profes sional to
have the light repl aced.
CAUTION
D To prevent burning your self, do not
replace the light bulbs whil e t hey
are hot.
D Halogen bul bs have pressur ized gas
inside and r equire special handling.
They can burst or shatter i f
scratched or dropped. Hold a bulb
only by it s plastic or metal case.
Do not touch t he glass part of a
bulb with bare hands.
NOTICE
Only use a bulb of the li sted type.
The ins ide of t he l ens of exteri or l ights
such as headli ghts may t emporaril y fog up
when the lens becomes wet i n the rain or
in a car wash. Thi s i s not a probl em
because the fogging is c aused by the
temperat ure diff erence between the out side
and ins ide of the lens, just li ke the
windshi eld fogs up i n the rai n. However, if
there is a l arge drop of water on the
insi de of the lens , or if t here i s wat er
pooled inside the l ight, cont act any
authori zed Toyot a dealer or r epairer, or
another dul y qual ified and equipped
profes sional .
