CAUTION
D Adjustment should not be made
while the vehicle is moving.
D When adjusting the seat, be careful
that t he seat does not hit a passen-
ger or luggage.
D Adjust both seat cushions to t he
same posi tion and ali gn all seat-
backs at the same angle when a
person sits in the rear center posi-
tion. Other wise, the per son cannot
wear the seat belt properl y and t his
may cause serious inj uries i n a col-
lision.
D After adj usting the seat positi on,
try sl iding it forwar d and backward
to make sure the seat i s locked in
position.
D When retu rning seats to thei r origi-
nal positi on, observe t he followi ng
precauti ons in or der t o prevent
death or serious injury in the event
of a sudden st op, sudden swerve or
accident:
Make sure t he seat is securel y
locked by pushi ng for ward and rear-
ward on t he top of the seatback.
Failure to do so will prevent the
seat belt from oper ating properl y.
Make sure the seat belts ar e not
twist ed or caught under t he seat
and are ar ranged in their proper
positi on and ar e ready to use.
Folding down the seats wil l enlarge the
luggage c ompartment . See “ Luggage stow-
age precaut ions” on page 402 in Section
2 for precaut ions when loading luggage.
