CAUTION
When j acking, be sure to obser ve th e
following to reduce the possibility of
death or serious inju ry:
D When usi ng a fl oor jack, f ollow the
instr uctions of the manual provi ded
with the jack.
D Do not put any par t of your body
under the vehi cle supported by the
floor j ack. Always use f loor jack
and/or automotive j ack st and on a
solid, f lat, level sur face. Personal
injury may occur.
D Do not start or run t he engine whi le
your vehi cle is supported by the
floor jack.
D Stop the vehicle on a l evel fi rm
ground, fi rmly set the par king br ake
and put the tr ansmission i n “P”
(automati c transmi ssion or Multi dri-
ve) or rever se ( manual t ransmis-
sion). Block the wheel s on the op-
posite side of the f loor jack up
point if necessary.
D Make sure to set the fl oor jack
properl y in t he j ack point. Raising
the vehicle wi th floor jack impr oper-
ly positioned wil l damage t he ve-
hicle or may allow the vehi cle to
fall off t he fl oor jack and cause
personal injur y.
D Never get under the vehicle when
the vehicl e is supported by the
floor jack alone; use vehi cle sup-
port stands.
D Do not raise the vehicle with some-
one in the vehicle.
D When raising the vehicle, do not
place any objects on top of or un-
derneath the fl oor jack.
NOTICE
Make sure to place t he fl oor jack cor-
rectl y, or your vehicle may be dam-
aged.
