SETTING THE SYSTEM
1. Vehic les wi thout s mart ent ry and st art
system—The key is removed from the
engine swit ch.
Vehicles wi th smart entr y and star t
system—The “ENGINE START STOP”
swit ch is t urned off.
The engine immobilizer system is set and
the indic ator l ight wi ll s tart f lashi ng. (See
“Engine immobilizer system” on page 27 in
this Section for details.)
2. Hav e all passenger s get out of the
vehic le.
3. Clos e and lock all the s ide doors , back
door and hood using wi reles s remote
contr ol or entry func tion of the smart
entry and start system.
The i ndicat or light will remain on when all
the side doors, bac k door and hood are
clos ed and l ocked.
The system will automatically be set after
30 seconds . When t he system is set, the
indic ator light wi ll star t flas hing again.
4. Aft er mak ing sure t he indic ator li ght
star ts fl ashing, y ou may leave t he v e-
hicl e.
CAUTION
Never act ivate t he double l ocking sys-
tem when t here ar e people in the ve-
hicle, because al l the door s cannot be
opened fr om i nside t he vehi cle. I f
locked by acci dent, push unlock
switch of the key.
Cancelling the system
When you unlock any door using ent ry
function, wir eless r emote cont rol or a
key, t he system is cancelled.
The system will cancel within 30 seconds
before the system is set automatically un-
der any of the followi ng conditions :
D Any of t he side doors , back door or
hood is opened.
D Any of t he side door s or back door is
unlock ed.
D The battery t erminal i s reconnec ted.
Vehicles without s mart entr y and start sy s-
tem—
D The engine swit ch i s turned to the
“ON” posi tion.
Vehicles with smar t entr y and star t sys-
tem—
D The “ENGI NE START STOP” s witch i s
in IGNITION ON mode.
WHEN THE SYSTEM IS SET
Activat ing the system
The system will sound the al arm under
the followi ng conditions :
D If any of the doors is unlock ed or i f
the hood is forci bly opened wit hout t he
key (v ehicl es with smar t entry and
start system only), wireless remote
contr ol or entry func tion of the smart
entry and start system.
D If t he batter y ter minal i s dis connec ted
and then reconnect ed.
