10. NETWORK TERMINATION BOARD
The Advent XT2 termination board provides the interface between the main CPU board and the site wiring network.
LINK SETTINGS
Links LK1 & LK2 will normally be fitted in position A so the RS232 Port can be used to monitor the RS485 Network
data. Move the links to position B to monitor the 2
nd
RS485 Network data. Links LK3 & LK4 are not fitted.
RS232 PORT
The 9 pin “D” RS232 Port is used to connect a PC to monitor the XT2 RS485 Network data (19200 baud, 8 data bits, 1
stop bit, no parity). The link settings LK1 & LK2 must be changed to position B to monitor the 2
nd
RS485 Network data.
INPUTS 1-4
There are 4 inputs which can be activated by switching 0V via normally open clean contacts into terminals IP1-IP4.
FIRE ALARM INPUT
The “Brigade Output” N/O relay contacts on the building’s main Fire Alarm Panel can be connected to input 4 to
report fire alarms via the Advent XT2 system. When 0V is applied to input 4 a “999” fire alarm call will be reported via
the current operating mode. If a PA Amplifier (ZXT901) is fitted, then at the same time a fire tone will start to sound
through all intercoms*. The fire tone will continue until input 4 is removed, i.e. when the buildings Fire Alarm Panel is
reset. *Note: if a PA Amplifier is fitted the fire tone can be disabled in the Onsite & General Set-up programming - see
the Advent XT2 Programming Manual (Doc No FM0815).
OUTPUTS
There are 4 N/O clean contact outputs which can be programmed for various functions. The contacts are rated at 24V
DC 1A.
Any Alarm Output or DTMF Relay 1
Fire Alarm Output or DTMF Relay 2
BT Line Selector or DTMF Relay 3
BT Line Fault or DTMF Relay 4
When an output is activated the relevant LED5-8 will illuminate on the XT2 Controller board. Outputs can be setup in
the Inputs & Outputs programming - see the Advent XT2 Programming Manual (Doc No FM0815).
