13. EXTERNAL BATTERY BOX INSTALLATION
The Advent XT2 external battery box (P/No. ZXT902) extends the system standby battery operating time from 12 to 24
hours*. This additional battery box is not mandatory, but it is recommended to fully comply with BS EN 50134-3:2012.
*24 hours battery standby is based on 5 calls per hour on a typical Advent XT2 system with 40 intercoms, 1 door entry
panel and 3 NTR’s. The DECT system is supported by a UPS, if this fails all onsite calls are reported to the fixed desk
telephone.
INSTALLATION
The external battery box is housed in a steel
enclosure 230 x 185 x 80 mm (HxWxD).
This should be wall mounted as close as possible
to the Advent XT2 controller.
Check the battery leads can be routed through
the knockouts and trunking to the XT2 controller
before fixing to the wall.
DO NOT extend the battery leads.
Fix the chassis to the wall using the 3 holes
marked “Ashown here;
TERMINATION
The external battery box leads are simply connected in parallel with the existing standby batteries in the Advent XT2
controller using the 2 way tab to receptacle crimp adapter terminals provided.
IMPORTANT: Ensure correct polarity before connecting; RED LEAD +ve and BLACK LEAD -ve.
