System characteristics
The refrigerant circuit is locked.
Cause
■
Incorrect software version for the electronics mod-
ules and/or refrigerant circuit controller
■
No parameter file or the wrong parameter file was
loaded during the update
Measures
1. Use ViGuide to check the version of the software for
the HPMU and EHCU electronics modules and for
the VCMU refrigerant circuit controller.
If necessary, update the software for all electronics
modules and the refrigerant circuit controller.
2. Have a master reset carried out by Viessmann
Technical Service.

Cause
Communication error, energy meter
Measures
1. Check system configuration for energy meter: CAN
bus subscriber number 97 or 98
2. Turn off the ON/OFF switch on the indoor unit. Wait
at least 2 min. Turn on the ON/OFF switch.
3. Check the following CAN bus connections:
■
Connections X8.1 to X8.3 on plug 91 on
the HPMU electronics module
■
Wall mounted indoor unit:
Connection on device underside, 6-pole connec-
tion socket on the left, terminals 1.CAN L to
3.CAN H
Floorstanding indoor unit:
Connection to luster terminals for BUS connec-
tions, terminals 91.CAN L to 91.CAN H
■
Check wires and plugs for correct seating.
■
Check connections for contact corrosion.
■
Check cables for mechanical damage, e.g. crush-
ing, kinking, chafing or breakage.
■
Check CAN L/CAN H assignment.
■
CAN Ground (GND) must not be connected.
■
Check cable type: Li2YCYv, twisted pair, shielded
or 2-core CAT5, shielded
■
Check cable length.
■
Check the position and number of terminators.
4. Replace CAN bus energy meter cable.
5. Check position and number of terminators in the
CAN bus system.
6. Check the power supply to the energy meter.
7. Replace the energy meter.
8. Replace HPMU electronics module.
