3. Getting started
3.1 Checking the system
Before using the XR3D, verify the system is ready for operation by ensuring the following:
1.
Perform a visual inspection for any obstruction in the tunnel or on the conveyor belt assembly. Check that
there is nothing under the belt or between the belt and the tunnel sides.
2.
The XR3D power cord (2.5 m supplied with the XR3D) is connected to a grounded 110–120 VAC or 220–240 VAC
power outlet.
3.
The emergency stop buttons are fully extended.
4.
The circuit breaker is in the ON position.
5.
The access panels are securely set in place with security screws. This ensures that the interlocking switches are
pressed.
6.
The interlock switches on the doors must be engaged or the XR3D will not generate X-rays. The interlock
switches prevent the scanner from operating if the panels are open. A message appears on the monitor
indicating if the doors are open. The System & Operator Messages area on the operator screen does not display
any warning messages, for example System Status: Locked / Interlock or Key Lock as shown in Figure 7.
