Installing the 30-cm column heater
If your system includes a 30-cm column heater, follow the procedure below to
install it.
Required materials
Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
Screws: M4 × 50-mm, stainless steel (2), startup kit
Side mount shaft (2), startup kit
Side mount collar (2), startup kit
Required tools
1/4-inch bit driver
•2.5-mm hex driver
7-mm adjustable wrench
T20 TORX screwdriver
To install the 30-cm column heater:
1. Assemble the side-mount collars onto the side-mount shafts, and
position the collars so that they are located at the base of the shafts'
threads.
2. Power-off the sample manager.
Caution: To avoid damaging the electronic components of column
heaters fitted with a rear DSUB cable, unplug the cable from the sample
manager before performing this procedure.
Caution: To avoid damaging electrical components, do not
disconnect an electrical assembly from an instrument or device
that remains connected to a building’s electrical supply. To
completely interrupt power, set the unit’s power switch to Off.
Then disconnect the power cord from the unit’s rear panel or from
the wall outlet. After discontinuing power, wait 10 seconds before
attempting to disconnect an assembly.
