2. Connect the column inlet and outlet of the column in position 1.
3. Connect the eCord to the port on the right side of the upper CM-Aux.
4. Run flow through the column with backpressure to ensure that there are
no leaks.
5. Install the columns in the other positions as desired and test for leaks.
Installing the ACQUITY 30-cm column heater/cooler
If your system includes an ACQUITY 30-cm column heater/cooler, follow the
procedure below to install it.
Required materials
• Bracket kit
• Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
Required tools
• 1/4-inch bit driver
• 7-mm adjustable wrench
• T20 TORX screwdriver
To install the ACQUITY 30-cm column heater/cooler:
1. Power-off the sample manager.
Caution: If your system includes a column heater with a rear DSUB
cable, to avoid damaging the device’s electronics, unplug the cable from
the sample manager before performing this procedure.
Caution: To avoid damaging electrical components, do not
disconnect an electrical assembly from an instrument or device
that remains connected to a building’s electrical supply. To
completely interrupt power, set the unit’s power switch to Off.
Then disconnect the power cord from the unit’s rear panel or from
the wall outlet. After discontinuing power, wait 10 seconds before
attempting to disconnect an assembly.
