Replacing the column
Required materials
• Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
• Replacement column
To remove the column:
1. Stop any running mobile phase.
2. After allowing sufficient time for cooling, open the column heater,
column manager, or auxiliary column manager door.
3. Do these things on the column manager or auxiliary column manager:
a. Push the latches on top of the column compartment cover inward, to
disengage them from the latch pins.
Warning: To prevent burn injuries, set the column temperature to Off,
and then allow the column compartment and its components to cool for
60 minutes before touching them. Monitor the column compartment
internal temperature to ensure all components are cool.
Caution: To prevent contaminating system components, wear clean,
chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when replacing the column.
