Installing two CM-Aux modules in a multiple-stack configuration
These configurations can support either four or six columns (in any
combination of 50-, 100-, or 150-mm columns). The inlet valve is located on the
left-hand side of the column manager.
Required materials
• Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
• 4-column tubing set, for installing the upper auxiliary column manager
(CM-Aux)
• 6-column tubing set, for installing the lower CM-Aux
Note: When installing the lower auxiliary column manager in a multiple
stack configuration, you need the following parts from the startup kit:
– Extended feet and four screws
– Swivel drain kit and Tygon
®
tubing
Required tools
• 1/4-inch open-end wrench
• 1/2-inch open-end wrench
•2-mm Hex wrench
• 5/16-inch open-end wrench
• 7/16-inch open-end wrench
• Right-angle nut extender tool, for low-pressure fittings
• Stainless steel tubing cutter, for cutting waste tubing to length
•T8 TORX driver
• T10 TORX driver
• T20 TORX driver
To establish a multiple-stack configuration, follow these general steps, in
order:
1. Remove all fittings from the CM-A valves.
2. Select a new system module configuration.
3. Install extended feet, as needed (see page 57).
