(Continued)
IMPORTANT
The air cleaner uses a dry element, never apply oil.
Do not run the engine with filter element removed.
Be sure to refit the cover with the arrow mark (on the rear
of cover) upright. If the cover is improperly fitted, evacuator
valve will not function and dust will adhere to the element.
Do not touch the secondary element except in cases where
replacing is required.
Evacuator Valves
Open the evacuator valve once a week under ordinary
conditions - or daily when used in a dusty place - to get rid of large
particles of dust and dirt.

Cleaning Fuel Filter
This job should not be done in the field, but in a clean place.
1. Close the fuel valve.
2. Unscrew the screw ring and remove the filter bowl, and rinse the
inside with kerosene.
3. Take out the element and dip it in the kerosene to rinse.
4. After cleaning, reassemble the fuel filter, keeping out dust and
dirt.
5. Bleed the fuel system. (See page G-37.)
IMPORTANT
If dust and dirt enters the fuel system the fuel pump and
injection nozzles are subject to premature wear. To prevent
this, be sure to clean the fuel filter bowl periodically.
