Select the Scan Options
Once you have selected the mode of connection, you can select the features needed for your scan job.
Scan features are available at the device and also in your computer’s Scan interface.
1. At the printer, press the up/down arrows to display the feature you want, and press OK.
2. Press the up/down arrows to display the setting you want, and press OK.
Note: Some of the following options may be unavailable depending on your scanning settings and
the scan method selected.
Start the Job
Once you have loaded the originals for scanning and chosen the job features, you can initiate the scan
at the printer or at your computer.
1. Press the Start button at the printer or the Scan option at your computer.
The device begins scanning the original.
2. If scanning from the document glass, to scan another page, press the up/down arrows to select
Yes and press OK. Load an original and press Scan. Otherwise, select No and press OK.
The images are scanned and sent to the destination selected in the job.
Stop the Job
To cancel an active Scan job, press the Stop button on the control panel. The printer stops scanning
and deletes the file and the job.
Feature Description Options
File Format Determines the type of file created. Multi-page PDF, Single-page PDF,
Multi-page TIFF, and Single-page TIFF.
Color Mode Select to produce black and white,
grayscale or color output.
Color, Grayscale, or Black and White.
Resolution Affects the appearance of the scanned
image. A higher resolution produces a
better quality image. A lower resolution
reduces communication time when
sending the file over the network.
72, dpi 100 dpi, 200 dpi, 300 dpi, 400
dpi or 600 dpi.
A higher resolution increases the file
size.
Original Size Allows you to specify the size of the
image to be scanned.
A4 (210x297mm), A5 (148x210mm),
B5 (182x257mm), Legal (8.5x14”),
Letter (8.5x11”), Executive (7.25x10.5”)
and Folio (8.5x13”).
Note: Legal and Folio are only available
when original documents are loaded in
the ADF.
