Installing the Fuel Injection Pump
The fuel injection pump assembly is supported with
several brackets to minimize vibration to the
electronic control parts of the injection control parts
in the injection pump. Improper installation of these
brackets may lead to a malfunction of the pump.
Install the brackets following the steps outlined
below:
1. Insert two spring pins (Figure 6-17, (1)) in the
flange of the timer housing of the fuel injection
pump. Assemble and install the retainer
(Figure 6-17, (27)) while adjusting knocking
holes.

2–Retainer
2. Align the spring pins with the holes in the
retainer as shown in Figure 6-17.
