ELECTRONIC CONTROL
SYSTEM
The Electronic Control System (ECS) is used with
the 6LY3 series engines. In order to function, the
Engine Control Unit (ECU), the electronic governor
and electro-hydraulic timer are interconnected to
the fuel injection pump. The ECU controls the fuel
injection quantity and injection timing electronically.
This engine is also equipped with an engine control
unit, an engine interface module and other
electronic control equipment.
