2.3 Connecting the Power Supply and Turning the Power Switch On and Off
Turning On the Power Switch

Press the power switch on the front panel.
The power switch color will change from orange to green.
Note
If you turn off the main power switch while the front-panel power switch is turned on (while the power
switch is illuminated in green), you simply turn on the main power switch to start the instrument the
next time. However, if you turn off the main power switch while the front-panel power switch is turned
on, the setup data immediately before the power switch is turned off will not be stored properly.
Power-on Operation
When the power switch is turned on, calibration starts automatically. When the instrument
starts normally, the waveform display screen appears. Check that the instrument has started
normally before you use it.
If the Instrument Does Not Start Normally When the Power Is Turned On
Turn off the power switch, and check the following items.
• Check that the power cord is securely connected.
• Check that the correct voltage is coming to the power outlet. See section 2.3, “Connecting
the Power Supply and Turning the Power Switch On and Off.”
If the instrument does not operate properly after checking the above, turn on the power switch
while holding down the RESET key. The settings will be returned to their factory default
values.
Note
• After turning the power switch off, wait at least 10 seconds before you turn it on again.
• It may take a few seconds for the startup screen to appear.
• If the instrument still does not start properly even when you turn on the power switch while holding
down the RESET key, contact your nearest YOKOGAWA dealer for repairs.
Turning Off the Power Switch
CAUTION
Abruptly turning off the main power switch or unplugging the power cord while data is being
saved or the internal printer is printing may corrupt the media on which data is being saved
or damage the built-in printer. Also, the data being saved is not guaranteed. Always turn the
main power switch off after data has been saved.
