WARNING:
The
tinted glass panel is
~
breakable
and
heavy.
Handle
it with care.
Removing Glass Panel (or Foam Shipping Pads)
1.
Remove
the
locking wedges and hook-shaped clips
from the
top
two slots in the cabinet, as follows: Pull
each wedge straight out
of
its mounting. Slide each
clip to the left
and
out
of
its mounting. Retain parts.
2.
Use
one
hand
to
apply
and
keep
slight pressure
on
the face
of
the glass panel
to
keep
the
panel from
coming
out
of
its mounting.
3. Remove the foam shipping pads, if present,
by
gently
pulling
the
foam
pad
from
each
comer
of
the glass
panel. Discard the pads.
You
may have
to
tilt
the
panel forward slightly in
order
to remove the pads. If
you can
not
remove the lower two
pads
or
you want
to
remove the glass panel, continue with step
4.
Otherwise, you
can
secure
the
glass panel
to
the
TV
by following
step
7.b. below.
4.
There
·may
be
sufficient clearance
to
remove the glass
panel without further disassembly.
Grasp
the panel
along the
top
edge
and
gently pull it
up
and
away
from its lower mounting.
If
there
is
binding
or
you can
not remove
the
panel, continue with step
5.
After the
glass panel
is
removed,
put
it in a location where it
will
not fall
or
get broken.
Handle
the glass with care
because it
is
heavy.
5.
Remove the locking wedges
and
hook-shaped clips
from the bottom two slots in
the
cabinet, as follows.
Pull each wedge straight
out
of
its moWlting.
Use
one
band
to
apply
and
keep
slight pressure
on
the face
of
the glass panel to
keep
the panel from coming
out
of
its mounting. Slide
each
clip
to
the
right
and
out
of
its mounting. Retain parts.
6.
Grasp
the glass panel along the
top
edge
and
gently
pull it
up
and
away from its lower mounting.
Put
the
glass panel in a location where it will
not
fall
or
get
broken.
Handle
the glass with care because it is heavy.
You may clean the glass panel
or
the face
of
the
picture tube
or
both
at this time.
7. Secure the glass panel
to
the
TV
by using the
hardware removed above, as follows:
a.
If
the
&Jass
panel
was
remoyed
from
the
cabinet;
J.
Install two hook-shaped clips in the bottom slots
of
the cabinet.
You
must slide
each
clip
to
the
left as
far as it will go
to
secure
the
clip.
2.
Insert glass panel into the lower ledge so that it rests
on
the two lower clips.
Handle
glass by its sides to
prevent getting fingerprints
on
the
inside surface.
3.
Use
one
hand
to apply
and
keep
slight pressure
on
the face
of
the glass panel
to
keep
the
panel from
coming
out
of
its mounting.
Do
step 7.b.
b.
If
the
e:lass
panel
was
not
remoyed
from
the
cabinet;
1.
Install two hook-shaped clips in
the
top
two slots
of
the
cabinet.
You
must slide
each
clip
to
the
right as
far as it
will
go
to
secure
the
clip.
2.
Install locking wedges at
each
of
the hook-shaped
clips. Verify that all four locking wedges
are
properly installed.
Cleaning the Glass Panel
Follow the same cleaning
procedure
given for cleaning
the picture tube face in this section
of
the Operating
Guide.
