21. Remove stem nut. Tool: 41mm. Torque:
75 lb-ft (102 Nm).
22. Remove upper triple clamp (shown with stem
nut removed - upper triple clamp just sitting on
the steering shaft).
23. Remove shaft nut. Tool: Adjustable hook
spanner wrench (showing the nut - no tool in
photo is acceptable).
24. Remove lower triple clamp and discard
bearings (x2), races (x2), and seals (x2).
Note: Replace bearings (x2), races (x2), and
seals (x2) upon installation.
Installation
1. Installation is the reverse of the removal
procedure, but take note of the following
installation step.
2. Pay close attention to the order of installation
of the bearings, races, seals, steering stem
lock nut, and steering stem nut.
CAUTION: Install the steering stem lock nut
(located under the upper triple clamp) with
the bevel facing down.
