Power Leads - Positive & Negative

CAUTION: Always perform the High Voltage
Discharging procedure prior to servicing any
High Voltage component or connection. Proper
procedures must be followed! To protect
electrical components, perform the following
tasks in the order given. Do not deviate from the
repair procedure processes.
NOTICE: Before carrying out any work on the
electrical system, remove the key from the key
switch.
Removal
1. Remove left and right inner side fairings. See
Side Fairings (Inner), page 60.19.
2. Safely support the motorcycle by using a
motorcycle stand.
3. Remove lower body panel.
4. Remove bolts (x4) securing controller carrier
access panel to controller carrier.
5. Remove controller carrier access panel.
6. Remove bolts (x4) securing positive and
negative power leads to controller BUS set.
Torque 10 lb-ft (13.5 Nm).
WARNING: Check the voltage at the BUS
set. Reading should be 0 volts DC.
7. Remove inner top cover. See Top Cover
[22MY Onwards], page 20.33.
8. Disconnect harness connector.
9. Remove bolts (x4) securing positive and
negative power leads to BCB main BUS set.
Torque 10 lb-ft (13.5 Nm).
