4. DO NOT LIFT THE MOTORCYLE BY
JACKING UP THE CONTROLLER! DO NOT
SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE
MOTORCYCLE BY SUPPORTING THE
CONTROLLER! Doing so, will damage the
controller and other components.
5. Route ratchet straps through rear subframe in
order to lift the rear of the motorcycle with a
hoist.
CAUTION: Use two ratchet straps to
distribute the load. Using a single ratchet
strap is unsafe, due to being a single point
of failure.
6. Raise rear of bike by the rear subframe with
the hoist just enough to remove the load from
the rear shock.
7. Remove bolt securing shock to swingarm.
Collect nut, flat steel washer, and composite
washers (x2). Tools: T50 and 17mm socket.
Torque: 52 lb-ft (71 Nm).
8. Remove bolt securing shock to motorcycle
frame. Tool: T50. Torque: 52 lb-ft (71 Nm).
