4.3 I Adding minerals
• It is important that the minerals are added according to the procedure below before switching
on the appliance.
• Minerals must be added to a pool newly lled with water (tap water only, well water is
prohibited). When installing in an exisng pool, the pool must be drained beforehand and
lled with new water (according to the pool manufacturer's recommendaons for draining).
• The ltraon system must be in operaon when the minerals are added.
• Always pour the enre contents of the bags; do not store open mineral bags (they are sensive
to humidity).
The quanty of magnesium minerals required for the system to operate correctly must be equal to 4 g/L (= 4 kg/m³,
4,000 ppm or 0.4%); to reach this concentraon, add 5 kg/m³ (because the minerals contain a small amount of water).
Pool volume (m³) 20 30 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 80 90
Number of kg to be added 100 150 200 225 250 275 300 325 350 400 450
• Add the minerals by directly pouring the bags along the enre circumference of the pool in a homogeneous manner.
• Start the ltraon system and the appliance.
• Leave the ltraon system in forced operaon for 24 hours, then return to normal daily operaon.
==> Acvaon of the treatment
This exclusive magnesium-based treatment system is specic and it is important that you understand the following
stages.
• Once poured into the pool water, the minerals will make the water slightly cloudy and harmless foam may also appear
on the water's surface. This is perfectly normal and demonstrates the inial acon of converng the magnesium
present in the minerals into magnesium hydroxide.
• Approximately 48 hours aer the minerals were added, the water will become perfectly clear.
• A short lter backwashing procedure may be required in order to remove possible debris created when installing the
equipment. Refer to the pressure gauge on the lter and its user manual.
Tip: adding the minerals
• This slightly cloudy appearance with the potenal presence of harmless foam on the surface can last
several days depending on the type of pool and daily ltraon cycles implemented (ltraon should
preferably be operated at least 12 hours a day during this acvaon phase).
• To enhance acvaon of the treatment, we recommend not using the pool during this short period.
• Cleaners may also struggle climbing the pool walls. Use in "boom-only" mode where possible. They can
resume normal operaon when the water has become clear again.
