7.2.4 WPA(2) Authentication
The WPA2 securit y m ode is currently t he m ost robust form of encrypt ion for wireless net w orks. I t
requires a RADI US server to aut hent icat e user credent ials and is a full im plem ent ation the securit y
prot ocol. Use this securit y option for maxim um prot ect ion of your network. However, it is the least
backwards com patible wit h older devices.
The WPA securit y m ode is a secur ity subset of WPA2. I t requires t he presence of a RADI US server
on your network in order to validate user credent ials. This encryption st andard is slightly older t han
WPA2 and t herefore is m ore com pat ible with older devices.
Click Ne t w or k Set t ing > W ir eless to display t he Gene ra l screen. Select More Secure as the
securit y level. Then select W PA or W PA2 from t he Se curit y M ode list .

The following t able describes t he labels in t his screen.
Encrypt ion Select the encr ypt ion type (AES or TKI P+ AES) for data encry pt ion.
Select AES if your wireless clients can all use AES.
Select TKI P+ AES t o allow the w ireless clients to use either TKI P or AES.
