Routing
9.1 Overview
The Device usually uses the default gat eway to route out bound traffic from com put ers on t he LAN
to the I nt ernet. To have t he Device send data to devices not reachable through t he default gateway,
use stat ic rout es.
For exam ple, t he next figure shows a com puter (A) connect ed to t he Device’s LAN interface. The
Device rout es m ost traffic from A to the I nt ernet t hrough t he Device’s default gat eway ( R1 ) . You
creat e one stat ic rout e t o connect to services offered by your I SP behind router R2 . You cr eat e
anot her static route to com m unicate with a separate network behind a rout er R3 connected to the
LAN.
