7.3 The More AP Screen
This screen allow s you t o enable and configure m ultiple Basic Service Set s ( BSSs) on the Device.
Click Ne t w ork Sett ing > W ir eless > More AP. The follow ing screen displays.

I P Address Ent er the I P address of the external aut henticat ion server in dotted decim al not ation.
Por t
Num ber
Ent er the port num ber of the exter nal authent icat ion server. The default port num ber is
1 8 1 2 .
You need not change this value unless your network adm inist rator instructs you t o do so
with additional inform at ion.
Shared
Secret
Ent er a password (up t o 31 alphanum eric charact ers) as t he key t o be shared between the
external aut hent ication server and t he Device.
The key m ust be the sam e on t he ext ernal aut hent ication server and your Device. The key is
not sent over t he net w ork.

WPA
Com pat ible
This field is only available for WPA2. Select t his if you want t he Device to support WPA and
WPA2 sim ultaneously.
Encrypt ion Select t he encryption type (AES or TKI P+ AES) for data encrypt ion.
Select AES if your wir eless clients can all use AES.
Select TKI P+ AES t o allow the wireless client s to use eit her TKI P or AES.
WPA2 Pre-
Authenticat ion
This field is available only when you select W PA2 .
Pre-aut henticat ion enables fast roam ing by allow ing t he wireless client ( already connecting
to an AP) t o perform I EEE 802.1x authent ication wit h anot her AP before connecting to it .
Select Enabled to t urn on preauthentication in WAP2. Otherwise, select Disabled.

Specify how oft en wireless st ations have to resend usernam es and passw ords in order t o
st ay connect ed.
I f wir eless st at ion aut henticat ion is done using a RADI US server, t he reauthent icat ion tim er
on the RADI US server has priorit y.
Group Key
Updat e Tim er
The Gr ou p Key Updat e Tim er is the rate at which t he RADI US ser ver sends a new group
key out to all client s.
