7.2.1 No Security
Select No Securit y t o allow w ireless st at ions to com m unicate w ith t he access point s wit hout any

Sideband
This is available for som e regions when you select a specific channel and set t he Bandw idt h
field t o 4 0 MHz. Set w hether t he control channel ( set in t he Channel field) should be in t he
Low e r or Upper range of channel bands.
Passphrase
Ty p e
I f you set securit y for the wireless LAN and have t he Device generate a passw ord, t he
set t ing in t his field det erm ines how the Device generates t he password.
Select N one to set t he Device’s passw ord generation to not be based on a passphrase.
Select Fixed t o use a 16 charact er passphrase for generat ing a password.
Select Varia ble t o use a 16 t o 63 character passphrase for generating a password.
Passphrase Key For a fixed t ype passphrase ent er 16 alphanumeric character s (0-9, A-Z, w it h no spaces) . I t
m ust contain bot h letters and numbers and is case-sensitive.
For a variable t ype passphrase enter 16 to 63 alphanum eric characters ( 0-9, A- Z, wit h no
spaces). I t m ust cont ain both let t ers and num bers and is case- sensit ive.

Net work Nam e
( SSI D)
The SSI D (Service Set I Dent it y) identifies t he service set with which a wireless dev ice is
associated. Wireless dev ices associat ing t o t he access point ( AP) m ust have t he sam e SSI D.
Enter a descript ive nam e ( up t o 32 English keyboard charact ers) for t he wireless LAN.
Hide SSID Select t his check box to hide t he SSI D in the outgoing beacon fram e so a station cannot
obt ain t he SSI D through scanning using a sit e survey t ool.
Client I solation Select t his to keep t he wireless clients in this SSI D from com m unicat ing w it h each other
through t he Device.
MBSSID/ LAN
I solation
Select t his to keep t he wir eless clients in this SSI D from com m unicat ing wit h clients in other
SSI Ds or wired LAN devices through t he Device.
Select both Client I sola t ion and MBSSI D/ LAN I sola t ion to allow this SSI D’s wireless
clients to only connect t o the I nt ernet through the Device.

Select t his check box t o allow t he Device t o convert wireless m ult icast t raffic int o wir eless
unicast t raffic.
BSSID This shows the MAC address of t he wireless int erface on the Device when w ireless LAN is
enabled.
Securit y Level
Security Mode Select Basic ( W EP) or Mor e Se cure ( W PA( 2 ) - PSK, W PA( 2 ) ) t o add security on this
wireless net work. The wireless clients which want t o associate to t his net work m ust have
sam e wireless security sett ings as the Device. When you select t o use a security, additional
opt ions appears in this scr een.
Or you can select N o Secur it y t o allow any client t o associat e t his net work wit hout any data
encr ypt ion or aut henticat ion.
