Technical data 119
Category C3
The drive complies with the standard with the following provisions:
1. The motor and control cables are selected as specified in the Hardware manual.
2. The drive is installed according to the instructions given in the Hardware manual.
3. Maximum cable length is 100 metres.
WARNING! A drive of category C3 is not intended to be used on a low-voltage public network which supplies
domestic premises. Radio frequency interference is expected if the drive is used on such a network.
Category C4 (+0E200)
If the provisions under Category C3 cannot be met, or the drive module is equipped with option +0E200 (no
EMC filter), the requirements of the standard can be met as follows:
1. It is ensured that no excessive emission is propagated to neighboring low-voltage networks. In some
cases, the inherent suppression in transformers and cables is sufficient. If in doubt, the supply
transformer with static screening between the primary and secondary windings can be used.
2. An EMC plan for preventing disturbances is drawn up for the installation. A template is available from the
local ABB representative.
3. The motor and control cables are selected as specified in the Hardware manual.
4. The drive is installed according to the instructions given in the Hardware manual.
WARNING! A drive of category C4 is not intended to be used on a low-voltage public network which supplies
domestic premises. Radio frequency interference is expected if the drive is used on such a network.
