The controller providing the step and direction signals may use current sourcing /
open emitter outputs or it may use current sinking / open collector outputs.
In both cases it is still vital to ensure twisted pairs are used for these signals (twist the
signal for DIN1+ with the signal for DIN1- and twist the signal for DIN2+ with the
signal for DIN2-).
