The sum of the numbers in column “Value when activated” when all INx (where 1≤x≤16)
are active that is=1; is 65535. 65535 is the highest boolean value that can be converted to
an integer by the IB16 function block.

17.11.2 Application
Integer to boolean 16 conversion with logic node representation function (ITBGAPC) is
used to transform an integer into a set of 16 boolean signals. ITBGAPC function can
receive an integer from a station computer – for example, over IEC 61850–8–1. This
function is very useful when the user wants to generate logical commands (for selector
switches or voltage controllers) by inputting an integer number. ITBGAPC function has
a logical node mapping in IEC 61850.
The Integer to Boolean 16 conversion with logic node representation function
(ITBGAPC) will transfer an integer with a value between 0 to 65535 communicated via
IEC 61850 and connected to the ITBGAPC function block to a combination of activated
outputs OUTx where 1≤x≤16.
The values of the different OUTx are according to the Table
53.
If the BLOCK input is activated, it freezes the logical outputs at the last value.
Table 53: Output signals
Name of OUTx
Type Description Value when
activated
Value when
deactivated
OUT1 BOOLEAN Output 1 1 0
OUT2 BOOLEAN Output 2 2 0
OUT3 BOOLEAN Output 3 4 0
OUT4 BOOLEAN Output 4 8 0
OUT5 BOOLEAN Output 5 16 0
