Setting the time and date
Setting the time and date3
The time and date is not preset in new meters. You
can still, perform blood glucose tests. In this case,
however, the meter displays the time 0:00 (0:00am)
and the date 0- 0. This means that test results are
saved without a time and date. Averages cannot be
calculated, and when downloaded to a computer, the
statistical evaluation of test results is very restricted
or cannot be performed at all.
So that test results are saved with a time and date,
you must set the time and date and, if required,
change the format in which they are displayed.
When you set the time and date for the rst time, the
factory defaults are displayed.
The settings are made in the following order (default
in brackets):
1. Time and date format (24-hour display with day-
month date format)
2. Time – hour, minute (0:00)
3. Year (year of manufacture)
4. Date – month, day (month of manufacture, day 15)
If you do not wish to set the time and date, proceed
to Chapter 4 “Coding”.
