Automatic Measurement of DAR or PI:

NOTE: The input current may be a depolarization current resulting from an earlier
insulation measurement. It is recommended to start a new DAR and PI measure-
ment after the current has dropped to a negligible value (on the order of 100pA)
to avoid variations on these measurements.
Dependingonthechoices(DARorPI),themeasurementgoesasfollows:
a) DAR: PressSTART-theDARsymbolashesandthedisplayindicates“----”
aslongasthecalculationoftheratioisnotpossible(t<1mn).
e.g.:

After1min,themeasurementstopsandthemaindisplayautomaticallyshowsthe
DARvalue.Duringoraftermeasurement,theR-DAR-PI-DDbuttoncanbeusedto
seetheinsulationmeasurementcarriedout,butitdoesnotgivethePIvaluesince
themeasurementhasnotlastedlongenough.
b) PI:PressSTART-thePI symbolashesandthedisplayindicates“----”as
longasthecalculationoftheratioisnotpossible(t<programmedPItimes).
e.g.:

AftertheupperPItimehaspassed,themeasurementstopsandthemaindisplay
automatically shows the PI value. During and after measurement, the R-DAR-
PI-DDbuttonmakesitpossibletodisplaytheDAR(after1min),thePIandthe
insulationmeasurement.
c) DD:PressSTART-theDD symbolashesandthedisplayindicates“----”
aslongasthecalculationoftheratioisnotpossible(t<30min+1min).
e.g.:

1minuteafterthemeasurementstops,theDDsymbolbecomessteady,thedis-
