48 34410A/11A User’s Guide
2 Features and Functions
• INTEGRATION: Allows you to set the integration time for the measurement
in two ways; in power–line cycles (select NPLC) or in seconds (select
APERTURE).
• NULL: Allows you to enable (select ON) or disable (select OFF) the null
measurement feature, which measures the difference between a stored
null value and the input signal.
• NULL VALUE: Allows you to view and edit the null value.
• UNITS: Allows you to select from three choices of temperature degree
units, Celsius (select C), Fahrenheit (select F) or Kelvin (select K).
Configuring Capacitance Measurements
For capacitance measurements, your configuration menu choices are:
RANGE, NULL and NULL VALUE.
• RANGE: Allows you to let the multimeter automatically select the range
using the autoranging feature (select AUTO), or you may select a fixed
range using manual ranging (select MANUAL).
• NULL: Allows you to enable (select ON) or disable (select OFF) the null
measurement feature, which measures the difference between a stored
null value and the input signal.
• NULL VALUE: Allows you to view and edit the null value.
Front/Rear Input Terminal Switching
Any measurement made using the front panel input terminals may also be
made using the input terminals on the rear panel. See “The Front Panel
at a Glance” on page 8, for the location of the front/rear switch.
• Remote Interface Operation: You may only select the terminals using the
front panel switch, but you may remotely query the multimeter to
determine which terminals are selected. The query:
ROUTe:TERMinals?
returns either “FRON” or “REAR”
Refer to the Agilent 34410A/34411A Programmer’s Reference for
complete description and syntax for this command.
WARNING
Do not change the position of the Front/Rear button on the front panel while signals are
present on either the front or rear set of terminals. Switching while high voltages or
currents are present may cause instrument damage, and increase the risk of electric
shock.
